Well this was a nice surprise to come home to. Wow. I don't even know what to say except thanks to Jason and Anne for having this contest in the first place. I can't even comprehend the amount of effort and hard work they put into this. And thanks to everyone who voted for me in the Reader's Choice awards too, I didn't expect such a positive response. Congratulations to everyone who won and specifically to Ella and Jaye for their Honorable Mentions and also to Flood, for the Reader's Choice award. I'm happy to be in the company of such fantastic writers. I'm going to stop rambling now before the orchestra starts queuing up the music.

I might have said this before, but I'm going to kick your ass if I ever hear you say you haven't any talent.

You absolutely lost the right to say so.

I am totally dumbfounded over this whole thing so I won't say anything.

And hey, you're one to talk. I believe you hit the big time before I did, Mr. Published Author. :)

Great job, Rebecca. Tell all your customers about it over the weekend, okay? That'll be fun and good for some extra tips.

Um, you're assuming my customers can read. How delightfully optimistic of you. But thanks. :)

On a side note, LP voted for Lex in her top 5 and I was like Dude, wtf, how can you even understand that story?

"I'm not a little kid, mom."

Anyway, now she's grounded.

LOL, that's awesome. His story was really good. Don't go too hard on her though. There'll be plenty of other stuff to ground her for later.

Yeah I liked his story a lot too, but she's just a little wee baby. She said it was the most beautiful thing she ever read.

Wow. Be comforted in knowing that at 13, I was reading "Hollywood Wives". At least she has good taste.

Wasn't suggesting you hand your customers printouts of your story. I was thinking you'd do the old server-tells-anecdote-while-bringing-me-my-beer kind of thing. Congrats again. Be safe at work.

Congratulations Rebecca! Awesome story and a well deserved award. I agree with fringes , tell your customers about it. Like this:

WB: Hi I am Rebecca what can I get for you tonight?

Customer 1: Wow it has been a long day I will take something anything as long as it is wet and cold.

WB: Funny you should mention it being a long day, I thought the day I waited all day to win the TCON contest would NEVER get here!

customer 2: You won? wow thats great, and deserves a toast. What are your specials?

WB: Specials? you want to talka bout special? Having everyone else think MY story was the best thing since sliced bread, I mean toast(hey YOU brought it up!)now THAT was special!

Customers leaving:::: "have a good night".

WB: Night? speaking of night, I did an awesome job in the clarity of night contest!

See? Fringes is right.

nice job!

Congtarulations Rebecca,
Looks as if i missed the party, however, I really enjoyed the story line. The way it is written took me right to the room as an observer, or as a mouse in the corner. Just excellent
